About Ntsikana

What is the HSRP?

It is a Section 21 company based in Cape Town, South Africa. The project is an initiative of the National Department of Arts and Culture and has the support of the Departments of Education and Science and Technology as well as various civil society organisations. The project’s mandate is to revive historically significant – and currently under-resourced – South African secondary schools into centres of cultural and educational excellence.

With initial funding from the Department of Arts and Culture, an HSRP office has been opened. It has a small staff, headed by former Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town, Njongonkulu Ndungane.
